timing of when to order sperm?

I might be doing my IUI this upcoming Monday. When would I have the sperm delivered? Would it be better to have it here by Friday, the 5th? Would it stay frozen through Monday?

Thank you!

This will be my first IUI.

  • It will be shipped in a cryotank, so you don’t have to worry about it staying frozen. The tanks are equipped to keep the vials frozen for almost two weeks, I think. If you’re having it delivered to your home you can just leave it in the tank until the day you’re inseminating. If it’s going to a clinic, they are equipped to store it, too. I’d ship ASAP if I were you. Good luck!!

  • @Letsdothis I usually advise clients to call Client Services at least a week before their insemination to discuss shipping options. It's going to be a tight timeline, but we can try our best to have the specimen there in time for your IUI.

Please note that although FedEx has an extremely high on-time delivery rate with delivering our packages, we cannot guarantee arrival times. (Inclement weather is the most common reason packages get delayed.)

Our tanks are validated to keep the specimen frozen for at least 7 days. You can place an order online tonight, choose 10/4 as the ship date, and select the Fedex Priority option. Your package would be estimated to get there on Friday by noon. If you call Client Services tomorrow morning, you may still be able to get your order shipped out tomorrow, but it would cost an additional $75 for same-day processing.

Please don't hesitate to contact Client Services at 866-927-9622 with any questions. If you place your order online tonight, we can still help you make any changes to the order if you call us early tomorrow morning. We open at 6am Pacific Time.

Best of luck with your first IUI!
