How many tries did your IUI take you? Need support tips...

I just took my test this morning only to get the result that it was negative. It's been about 8 months now since I've started trying and this was my 4th IUI. My ultrasounds are all good, my labs, the timing and my donor has previous pregnancies. I have no known fertility issues and my doctor keeps giving me higher and higher percentages the more I try, but I'm really getting discouraged. I'm definitely not giving up, but I just keep reading so many success stories it's hard not to start wondering if I'm doing something wrong. Looking for others who have tried for longer and what they changed to help them (if anything) and a little encouragement on how to keep sane in this emotional roller coaster as I go at it alone.

  • I have a friend who has been trying for 3 years, several IUI's got pregnant had a MC and has been trying another 2 years. No known fertility issues etc. She is discouraged as you. It does happen. Oh she has had 3 or 4 IVF's as well. Remember regular couples take a long time to get pregnant to. It just depends on everything. I would recommend doing acupuncture weekly or every other week. I got pregnant after doing it for 4 months to prep my body. I had been seeing an acupuncturist for years and once I told him what I was going to do he started getting my body ready for it.
  • I was pregnant on my 3rd try but MC. Then on my 6th try I was successful. I choose the shot option right away to boost my fertility chances. Plus I drank pregnancy tea and really focused on eating right.
  • It took me 5 times to get my positive. I was shocked. I unfortunately miscarried but got pregnant again on my very next try. Miscarried again. Try 6 times before trying ivf and remember not everyone gets pregnant on the first three or four tries. My one friend had several IUIs no luck. Tried ivf a couple of times. No luck. Third ivf try she got triplet girls. You just got to keep trying.
