Donors that only have IUI vials

Hello,
I noticed that some donors only have IUI vials available. I have a few donors that I have been checking back on almost daily for the past 4-5 months to make sure they would not sell out if they ever got new ICI vials in. But they never did, even though they are still active and seem to have new IUI vials available from time to time. So, I am wondering why this is the case.
You guarantee higher sperm counts for ICI vials. So, this begs the question if it is possible that their sperm quality is just never good enough for ICI vials?

Since we receive more requests for IUI vials than ICI vials, our lab washes the majority of our vials.
If you provide us with the donor numbers that you are interested in, we can check to see if there may be ICI vials released in the future.
Please note that all CCB donors must meet extremely high specimen quality standards and every donation is individually tested for specimen quality. Lack of availability of ICI vials, does not indicate that the donor has poor specimen quality.
Also, please keep in mind that the volume of IUI and ICI vials differ. ICI vials typically have a volume of 1 mL, while IUI vials typically have a volume of .5mL. If you were to compare the guarantees based on an equal volume of .5 mL, the IUI vial would be 10 million, while the ICI vial would be 7.5 million.

That is really good to know. Last month I bought an ICI vial but it turned out to only have a volume of .5ml and a sperm count of 8 million. After what you wrote in this post, I think it got mixed up with an IUI vial.
I will contact my physician and see if she has already filed a specimen report form.
Thank you for your help.
Could you please check for me when donor 13351 will release ICI vials in the future? I checked since March and I have never seen him selling ICI vials.
Thank you for your help!
Donor 13351 did have ICI vials released prior to March. Right now we estimate that Donor 13351 may have a few ICI vials released in mid-October. It all depends on the results of his recent blood draw.
You can contact Client Services and ask to be added to the notification list so that you receive an email before his next vial release.
Yes, feel free to follow-up with your physician about your previous vial. Just a couple notes, our guarantee for ICI vials is post-thaw, not post-wash. And for IUI vials, we do not recommend re-washing the specimen.
Best of luck with your next insemination!

Nicole
