IUI BY OBGYN!

in Selecting a Sperm Donor
My husband and I decided to use donor sperm after 4 years of trying with no luck. We found out that his sperm count is very low and motility is also low. So we decided to use donor sperm. We went to my obgyn and ask the first step and totally i have no idea what to do first. We expect that she can just give us some refferals to a fertility clinic but then she offered that she can do IUI for us for free. She said she can put me on clomid and track my ovulation days and we'll go from there. Is there anyone here that have been through IUI by OBGyn? Should i just go to a real fertility clinic? This is our only shot and we can't afford IVF at the moment. Thank you all.

    I had an IUI done by my OBGYN and it was successful. If you ovulate on your own and don't have any problems I would use your OBGYN. As far as Clomid be careful using it as it thins the lining of your uterus after several times using it. There are other meds that work that don't thin your lining. Good Luck!

    Thanks for your response i did my day 3 testing before and checked my tubes if its block but my obgyn said everything's fine. I dont really track my ovulation days before but i remember i did try test myself and it was possitive. She said she will just give me a small amount of dosage of clomid just to help me a little bit. I just wish it will be successful cause we cannot do more procedure.
