Hi, Im thinking of going ahead with sperm donation, but I would be a single Mum (and based in the UK).
I was just wondering about the legal side of things, ie:
- who do you name on the birth certificate/passport etc under Father?
- im just wondering if the child support bureau generally want to become involved/chase the father for payment if they think your a single mum? Do you have to tell them all about the donation etc?
I realise the UK law will be different from US, but any advice helpful
thanks

As you said, the UK laws are very different from the US, so I don't want to give you inaccurate advice. My recommendation would be to contact a lawyer who is familiar with family law in the UK.
In the US, most single women leave the birth certificate as "Unknown". Child support only becomes a potential issue with a known donor who participates in the child's life and/or is listed on the birth certificate. There is no concern when using an anonymous donor through a sperm bank.
Please note that we are not able to ship sperm into the UK. If you are able to travel for the treatment, we would be able to ship directly to physicians in the US, or places like Belgium and Spain.
Best of luck,
Scott
