My RE's office does not have on site storage and informed me the vial will be stored in the shipping tank. How long is the tank good for storage before needing filled? Is there a time limit on return shipping for the tank?

    Hi Jessica -

    The tank is validated for 7 days beginning the day it is shipped. Your clinic can refill the tank with liquid nitrogen to extend the storage capability. However, this is not a recommended form of ongoing storage and the specimen quality is only guaranteed for the initial 7 days.

    We ask that the tank to be returned ASAP (usually within 7 days). $25 per day late fees can be applied after 7 days, although we are pretty flexible for an extra day or two.

    After 30 days, a $700 replacemnt fee applies.

    I do not recommend ordering so far in advance that the specimen sits in the tank much longer than 7 days, especially if your doctor does not have someone checking the tank over weekends.
