At home insem- When do I order?

We are trying an at home cycle this month due to weird schedules. When should I order? I normally ovulate on CD12-13. How long will the vial be good once it arrives? Thanks in advance.

  • Hi Raine-

For an insemination this month, you can place your order as soon as today. It's the shipping date that you need to decide on.

We usually recommend having the specimen arrive at least 1-2 days before you expect to ovulate, especially during the winter months when there is a greater chance of a weather delay.

You have 7 days from the shipping date to use the specimen, so you may want to opt for Priority Overnight delivery. Please keep in mind that delivery time is based on business days, so for example, if you have a package ship out on Thursday with the 2-Day Economy service, it will arrive on Monday afternoon. You then have until Thursday to use the specimen.

If this is your first time shipping to your home, please note that FedEx requires a signature. If no one will be available to sign for the package, you can arrange for the package to be sent to your local FedEx facility for pick-up, when you schedule your shipment.

Since choosing the shipping date can be confusing, you may want to call Client Services to discuss the different shipping options and the estimated dates of arrival.

    Best of luck with everything!

    Regards,
