  • welcome to the club!! It is super stressful and exciting. Try and stay busy and don't think too much about every twinge you feel. My Wife and I are in our second attempt and it is much easier this time around than the first time. Best of luck to you and your partner. wishing you both lots of baby dust and positive thoughts.
  • My partner is the one carrying I told her the same thing of not trying to stress over every little twinge or feeling! It is a bit stressful but I think we are more excited to start the journey! We definitely stay busy we have custody of our nephew that is 2 and she is a LPN so nursing schedules keep us busy otherwise! Best of luck to you and your wife as well lots of baby dust your way!
  • Im on my last day of clomid and I go monday for ultrasound hopefully iui that wednesday im super nervous!! any suggestions on how to relax during procedure?
  • The procedure it's self wasn't bad.Mostly feel pressure and then it was done before we knew it! My partner is the one that is going to carry so I did my best to comfort her while the procedure was happening and our doctor was nice enough to allow me the chance to inject the "little swimmers" in :) She says trying not to feel every little twinge or cramp or looking for noticeable signs has been the most difficult part of the whole experience including the procedure! We are currently 7 dpiui and it's still hard to not focus on it.
Good luck on your procedure sending lots of positive vibes and baby dust to you!
  • Hello ladies!! Hope it is ok to jump into your conversation! CONGRATS to all of you on starting this journey! I have my fingers crossed for all of you...and I am sending BABY DUST your way!

My partner and I had our first IUI cycle last month...unfortunately it was a BFN...but now we find ourselves knee deep in cycle #2! I agree with @ melnerin...this time around I feel a lot more relaxed about the whole process.

@greeneyes1027...you and I are pretty close in our cycle...tonight is my last dose of Clomid and I go on Monday as well for follicle check! Fingers crossed we have large follies, and plenty of them! As far as relaxing during the procedure; it really is over in no time! The most I felt was pressure when the speculum was inserted; no different than pap smear. As far as the catheter being inserted, I felt nothing...we did two back to back IUI's and I never felt the catheter either time...no cramping, nothing! My partner got to press the syringe when it came time, so the whole experience was so amazing!

@ M_28...how are you two holding up! You are almost there! Any urges to take HPT? I resisted the urge to take HPT and just waited on our BETA results...but it was hard to! How is your partner feeling, any symptoms?!

Ladies...here is to all of us getting our BFP this month...sticky baby dust to all of you!
  • Of course its okay it's awesome to have support from people going through the same process! We are holding up good 8dpiui today we did our first a natural cycle iui 24 hrs after +opk. She's much stronger than I am. I think a lot of it for her is she doesn't have any signs or symptoms so I think she's nervous to test :/ I'm trying to be super supportive and encouraging and hope for our BFP in the next week :) fingers crossed for follicle check sending lots of baby dust! Please keep in touch!
  • m_28. We are 6dpiui and I am dying to have my wife test. We are going to test early on Sunday and hoping for a BFP. Second time around was a lot easier and less stressful. I wasn't able to be there doing the insemination which was weird, but hoping it worked.

We should be finding out about the same time. My Wife's AF is due to come middle of next week.

Baby dust. Let's hope we can al get BFP's soon!
  • Well she ended up testing yesterday and today days 10-11piui both were BFN we are both still hoping its still early and our BFP Is coming soon! Lots of baby dust!
  • Hello ladies! Hope everybody had a GRET weekend! I am glad it is almost over, as it brings me closer to my Monday appointment! :)

Melanderin-how are we holding up?! Any symptoms?!?!?! Did you ladies end up testing today?!

M_28-Thanks for the warm welcome! Sure is nice to have extra support from others who are going through the same thing! It is such a rollercoaster of emotions! Hopefully it is just still a bit too early on the testing, have you tested since? FINGERS CROSSED FOR YOU LADIES! Stay positive and know you will get your BFP!

BABY DUST TO EVERYBODY! We are all one day closer to our BFP's!

In case anybody wanted to keep in touch via e-mail, our email is wally030306@yahoo.com!
  • Well AF arrived today so we are out this month. Calling the doctor today to see if we can do a medicated cycle next time! Baby dust!
  • @ M_28-Stay strong and keep positive! Good things come to those who wait! I know this is a rollercoaster of emotions....but you will get your BFP!!! My wife and I are in our second TWW wait now...we inseminated yesterday and today...so we will see! Hoping this is our month! Are you going right into another cycle?
    Stay smiling ...BABY DUST!!!
  • Yes we are going right into the second cycle our doctor wants to continue natural cycles so we will jump right in as soon as we get our +opk! We are hoping for a BFP this round more than ever as our donor sold out :( and we will only have 2 more try's with this donor.
Wally- Hoping this is your month as well! Sending lots of baby dust to you and your wife! How was the back to back? We debated on doing back to back to increase the odds..
  • I cannot wait for your +OPK!!! :) It will be here in no time!! I have my fingers crossed this will be your last cycle...and you will get the donor you both love! May I ask why your doctor suggested staying on natural cycles? We ended up switching donors after our first donor had low post thaw sperm counts..so this time around we used a different one! We have done back to back IUIs both tries now...our doctor said it definitely helps boost the chances of conception; being that frozen sperm does not live as long inside the uterus as fresh sperm would. She said it also helps cover more time and accounts for ovulation that may occur later than anticipated even with trigger shot. So we trusted it was the right thing to do :) Best of luck to you both!!! I can't wait to hear your updates! BABY DUST!!!
  • Because she is young and has no fertility issues they like to do 3 attempts before going medicated. In talking to the doctor she explained the success rate through the clinic we are using is the same with medicated vs. natural. We both love our doctor and nurses so are trusting in them what will be best. (Also we are putting faith in her trusting her body) we don't have a huge selection of donors as we are looking for an African American donor ( we have guardianship of our nephew who is biracial so that is important to us to give him the sense of inclusion in our family especially until the adoption is legal) so hoping we don't have to go through the selection process again! We will have to do a little more research on the back to back iui! BABY DUST!
  • I am feeling strong that you will be successful with the donor you have both chosen and love! I absolutely love the extra love and attention you have given to choosing him based on your nephew! I wish you all the best of luck with not only this process, but with the adoption! He is very blessed to have you both! Regarding the natural vs. medicated...it is such a tricky thing. I myself am 29 and have no fertility issues; we just personally decided that since this process adds up quickly, we wanted to give us the best chances possible...and our RE agreed.

BABY DUST to you both! Can't wait to hear your updates!!
  • Thank you for the positive vibes with all of our endeavors it's been a long emotional journey and we have just started! Here's to hoping your TWW goes by quickly and ends with a BFP! Please keep me updated with how the TWW is going! BABY DUST!
  • AF showed up today so we are starting clomid. Really hoping or 3rd try or we will more than likely take a month break. ugh!
  • Melnerin- here's to hoping the third ones the charm! Sending lots of baby dust!
