  • thank you!
  • Well today is day 15 after my 1st IUI. I've taken 4 HPT and all were BFN. :( I didn't take the progesterone suppository this morning because whats the point? I've read that it only delays your period from coming which is not what I want. I know the doc said if I don't get AF today then I should call and schedule a pregnancy test but I don't think I will, can't stand the disappointment.
  • AF here too :(
  • Emmy-Were you taking any meds or progesterone?
  • no i wasn't... im going in tuesday morning and see what my options r now... im going to try 1 more iui this cycle if it doesnt work im takeing a few months off bc this whole process is going to drive me crazy! good luck ladies ill keep u posted!
  • BFN here for the March cycle. This sucks! It is like everyone I know is pregnant right now, and I am so jealous I can't stand it. We are going to try femara with ovidril for the cycle this month. I will keep you all posted if it works!
  • No luck here either. Don't know if I want to continue. I don't want to be one of those women that try a thousand times and it never works. On the other hand the next time could be the BFP and I could miss my opportunity. Not sure what to do....
  • i started clomid today! im going to try 1 more time and then im taking a break! this will b my 3rd try in 3 months... im hopeing 3x's the charm!
good luck ladies keep me posted
  • I called my RE to let them know that today is day 1 of my cycle and also to ask how come I didn't have to do the HSG as I was originally told. After I went in for my mini consult and my RE gave me the results of my blood work she told me to schedule my IUI when my ovulation kit turned positive which is what I did. Never once did she ask me to come back 1st after I do the HSG and she checks the results. Now they tell me that I was supposed to have that done the HSG. I'm sooooo pissed because I could have waited to have my 1st IUI until after that was done and make sure I don't have any blockage in my fallopian tubes and not wasted my money. I feel like crying....
  • Well I went to my RE today (I chose a new doc same facility though)and I scheduled to get the HSG next Tues. When I had my ultrasound done today she said there may be fluid? in my fallopian tubes but we'll see when she gets the results. I also decided and she agreed that even though I'm young (so they say, I just turned 29)and a natural cycle, no meds would work probably after several tries she suggested that I take Clomid and give myself an Ovidrel shot to stimulate ovulation. So next month is going to be the big month for me. I really hope using this new med and getting the HSG done will maximize my chances. Only downfall she said is that Clomid causes you to produce more eggs which could mean twins but hey two babies for me to love what could be better? :)
  • good luck Sunshyne2010 everything will work out and u r YOUNG! im 32 and consider myself young...
    keep us posted!
  • Thanks Emmy!!! :) I think this process is making me feel old. How are things going with you?
  • well today is day 3 on clomid im going in on monday for blood and u/s... im haveing my fingers crossed for all of us!
  • And I have them crossed for you as well EMMY. Good luck and keep us posted. Are you having any side affects? Are you taking the Ovidrel shot to?
  • i do get hot flashes but thats it... tomorrow is my last day takeing them and then im back 2 looking for the smiley face lol
    im not takeing anything else
  • Hi ladies! I have been reading through the threads and wanted to wish you all luck! I haven't been on these boards much lately, I am usually on the CCB Facebook site. My partner and I will be doing our 7th IUI next week...I sure hope this one takes! I'm on CD10 today, I took Clomid 100mg CD4-8. The mood swings kick my butt every time! Thankfully I don't get hot flashes, too!

    Baby dust to you guys!
  • Hi jesselynn!I hope this is your lucky number 7. Baby dust to you!

Emmy-Hot flashes don't seem to bad. I would say its worth the BFP that I'm praying you get. Keep me posted.

I found out my donor is no longer available so I've been looking for a new one. Looking forward to my 2nd IUI next month I definitely think this one is going to be bette rbeing that I'm having the HSG and using Clomid and Ovidrel. I really hope we all succeed this time around and can share our exciting week by week pregnancy. Definitely looking forward to more talk about that then this...
  • why is nothing ever easy?? my doctor is talking to me today about ivf!! and im bugging out! appearently im ovulating this month on my clogged side! im so confused... she's telling me to go threw with the iui this week but my chances r so very slim... to top it off my mom who was my #1 fan on doing this is now telling me maybe all this is a sign and its not meant to be!! sorry for venting!!

Sunshyne2010 let me know how ur HSG goes!! wow we r all on some crazy rollercoasters!
  • I went in for the follie scan today and I have 2 large follicles on my left side...I will do the trigger shot tomorrow morning and the IUI on Wednesday...God I sure hope #7 ois our lucky number! At least the Clomid didn't make me quite as crazy this time!

Emmy- I am so sorry this is happening, but I wouldn't say this is any sort or "sign", maybe its just not the month? I don't know...its not an easy decision whether or not to do the IUI...I guess try to follow your heart. :)
  • Hey Gals!

Has anyone taken Clomid? I started it on days 5-9 and today is day 13 and I still am not ovulating. My other 2 IUI's I did naturally and I was already ovulating by day 12/13....

So, basically what am asking is, Does Clomid make your cycle longer? Hmmmmmm....

And what's this Ovidrel shot? My Gyno never mentioned that...

    Thanks.....Hey Ediggity, how's everything going?
  • Hi lawgal,
I took clomid last cycle on days 5-9, then had a trigger shot (Ovidrel) on day 14. Ovidrel forces you to ovulate within 24 to 36 hours. It just makes the timing of the IUI easier. You don't have to use a OPK when using ovidrel. Did you get an ultrasound to look at your follicles?

But to answer your question, I would think that clomid makes the cycle longer but I'm not really sure.

I'm sitting out this month, will be trying again next month.

    Good luck!
  • lawgirl- I have taken Clomid many times but the doctor had me do the trigger shot each time, just to ensure proper timing. For me, I kept track of my ovulation for several months prior to our first IUI and always surged on CD13-14, but we've done IUIs on CD15, all the way up to CD17 so it varies when the cycle is medicated, running a couple of days late. Hope that helps! Are you going to be doing a follicle scan to check to see where you're at or are you just waiting for your surge to go in?
  • Emmy I definitely don't think this is a sign. I agree with jesselynn that maybe this is just not the right month. Why did your RE discuss IVF is she/he saying that they don't think IUI is going to work? I think you should go with what YOU want and not anybody else and also consider the finance part as well, do you want to try this week with the chances being so slim or just wait until you have the best chances?I don't think people who are not in our situation quite know how we feel and so that make comments based on what THEY would do. I support you and any time you need to vent spill it out :)

jesselynn-Good luck on Wednesday. 7 is a very lucky number!

As for me, I did get the HSG test done today, kinda painful but hey...The doc said my fallopian tubes are definitely not blocked and the ink flowed through them only afterward the ink settled in one spot so she said the doc will review it and let me know if I can start Clomid next month or not. I'm a little nervous not sure what to think but happy that there is nothing wrong with my fallopian tubes.
  • sunshyne- nobody really talks about the HSG being PAINFUL! It made me cry...but maybe I am just a big baby. LOL! I am glad to hear someone else mention it, though.
  • thank you Sunshyne2010!! she didnt say it wont work she said it will save time with the ivf... im going in the morning for my 3rd iui...

im so happy everything worked out for you with the hsg!! your a step closer now!
  • Bad news. The RE called yesterday and said I have to have a laparoscopy done. This is basically a surgery under general anesthesia where they have to make to incisions and insert a camera and look at my fallopian tubes up close. My RE believes I have hydrosalpinx a blocked fallopian tube that is filled with fluid. There only seems to be 3 methods of treatment for this:
    * Try to add a hole to the tube via a surgery known as salpingostomy.
This is mostly recommended for small hydrosalpinges.
    * Try to fix it with massage/physical therapy.
There are non-surgical physical therapy techniques that involve massaging and manipulating the fallopian tube to open the blockage.
    * Surgically remove it via what’s known as a salpingectomy.
This is a laparoscopic surgery where one or both tubes are removed, leaving your ovaries and uterus untouched.
I'm going today at 11am to meet with my RE and see what I'm going to do and what will be the result of me having to do this. Will i still be able to do an IUI or will I now have to do and IVF or nothing at all????!!!! Sorry for rambling on, I'm just so confused...It seems like 1 thing after the other....
  • Sunshyne2010 what happen to "definitely not blocked " to this???

nothing is def, do the laparoscopy first and then see what exactly it is b4 you see this as bad news, it might b nothing!
  • You're right Emmy. I don't know when I was finished with the HSG that's what the nurse said then when I saw the RE she said I need the laparoscopy done. She said she would prefer to do it herself but she's going out on maternity leave and I really don't want to wait so I'm going to see if another RE there can do it. It's kinda heart breaking that I even have to have but hey I guess this is just how life goes right?
Anyway, Emmy I hope that things work out with you this time around. I definitely have you in my prayers.
  • u r in mine too Sunshyne2010!!! everything will work out i feel it!

i saw the back up plan last night omg it was soo funny...go to the movies today and laugh...it helps!
  • I used Clomid for both of my IUI cycles, and I don't know if they changed the length of my cycle much...I usually have a 30-day cycle as it is, and the time I got a BFN from Clomid my cycle was 29 days. The 2nd time we finally got our BFP on cd28. I also used an Ovidrel trigger on cd13, though. I had a GREAT response to the Clomid...I was on the lowest dose of it, and the first round I had 3 follicles (2 on the right 1 on the left), and the 2nd round I had 4 of them (all on the right...my right ovary is apparently a champion). We go in for our first ultrasound to see the little bean on May 10...hopefully there's just ONE there and not FOUR LOL!!! I'd be OK with 2, I think, but I'd probably cry if there were 3 or more...too overwhelming!

Anyway, hang in there! After 80 months of TTC I was beginning to NEVER think I'd actually get a BFP, and I DID, so there is definitely HOPE for all of us!!! :) FX for you!!!
