Which Vials for IVF?

I noticed in the donor search there wasn't a choice for IVF. Which of the two listed specimen types IUI and ICI is appropriate for IVF? Thanks.

  • Hi Texas -

Both IUI and ICI vials can be used for IVF. The difference between the two is that IUI vials are washed and ICI vials are unwashed.

You should check with your physician's office to see if they have a preference.

  • Hello.. Am starting on my IVF journey.. hoped to start this month but PGD delays it for like 12 weeks. I was bummed but still hoping to get started (and hope to get pregnant before the year's out. Glad to find this as I had the same question. My hospital says Unwashed.. so I guess it's ICI it is.
  • Hi CC -

    Welcome!

Yes, if your hospital prefers unwashed vials for IVF, you should look for ICI vials on our Donor Search.
