Any 13822 Success?

I had my first IUI on August 1 with donor 13822. I was told that he had a low sperm count with 12 million recovered however only a 20% motile rate leaving only about 2 million active sperm. Has anyone else found the same results using donor 13822. Should we consider changing donors?

I know that donor number 13822 was new as of June 2014 and that no pregnancies have been reported (still early of course!)but am just looking for feedback.

  • Make sure to report your low count for a refund!
  • Thank you, I did this morning. Should I be concerned with the low motility and the success of the iui? It was my first iui and I'm a 29 year old lesbian with no fertility problems (after completing all the normal tests). The sperm count was 12 million but with 20% motile rate making the count just over 2 million. Should I expect this first iui to be non successful at these numbers? I still have 10 days before my pregnancy test.
  • I just had iui just last week I am hoping it is positive pregnancy. I have to wait til next Friday to know for sure. This is upsetting to here that his count was low because CCB did say that 12 million is all that was needed. Good luck. I will keep you posted. When do you find out if you are pregnant?
  • I would just wait and see if you become pregnant. I am same as you. No fertility issues and young, so be positive!! Wish you the best of luck! My partner said that if sperm does not make me pregnant then it is the sperm because I have no issues and I have been pregnant in the past. I did do clomid and HCG trigger shot. My eggs are fine. So I would in future get different donor... But I pray every night it worked :) Please keep me posted and I will let you know. I will know my results of positive test August 15
  • I honestly don't know for sure. But I believe that in previous threads where people had low counts CCB has stated that research shows only 5 million is needed to get someone pregnant, so with only 2 million, I would be concerned, but still, it only takes one! Maybe you'll get lucky. I hope it works for you!
  • I did pregnancy test today for 13822 and it's negative :(
  • Cristina1129- did you have a low sperm count for 13822? What day did you have the iui? Mine was 8/1- we must be around the same time! I also took a pregnancy test today and it was negative but it's still early for me- not supposed to get my period until Wednesday- I'll keep you posted- fingers crossed!
  • Hi I did 13822, 2 iui's back to back. First one 7/31 second 08/1. Same as you. I really sould have waited til 8/15 and do another pregnancy test and that would give me real results. I was under impression my doctor was going to rewash the sample but he didn't. It was just dethawed. So unfortuneately I do not know the sperm counts. Which I am still not sure if that was the "right" thing to do. This is my first time and I went in with my partner knowing nothing. I am still hopefull because I still have some time just like you. I did a pregnancy test today and It gave me a negative and faint positive. So I am still being hopefull. I will let you know. Good luck to you. Keep being hopefull. Cross those fingers. I am praying every night. We did the iui's on the same day and should have results same time too. I will keep you in my prayers as well. Thanks for replying. I will keep you posted
  • Def no success for me. I got my period today. I ordered another donor. I just wanted to let you know. Good luck! Hope you test positive
  • I got my period also- no luck. I think I am going to try one more time with the same donor....they say it usually takes 3-4 IUIs to get pregnant so we will try one more with him. Good luck!
  • 13822 really is a cutie, wish you the best of luck to you as well. Thanks for letting me know. Sending baby dust your way!!
  • I just reported my pregnancy with donor 13822. My IUI was 10/7 and yesterday I had my first ultrasound and my partner and I could see the baby's heartbeat, so exciting! It was my 4th attempt at IUI, so don't get discouraged. My doctor said that most cryobanks shoot for 10 million motile post-thaw per vial. My 1st attempt the vial had 18 million, then 15, then 13, then only 11 million on this last time, but that was the time that worked! For me it seemed like it was more about getting the timing right between ovulation and insemination; I never had a positive OPK and used the HCG trigger shot every time. This last time it was almost exactly 36 hours (which is how long it's supposed to take) between the HCG shot and my procedure. Good luck to everyone, 13822 is looking good for me, and I have PCOS, so I'd imagine he'd work for other people too :)
However, if anyone is thinking of switching donors, I'd be interested in purchasing any extra 13822 vials. We're hoping to have a sibling and we only have 1 vial left.
  • i have done 3 rounds of natural IUI (no fertility meds) using donor 13822. The first attempt ended with an anembryonic pregnancy, and the last two didn't work. Trying one more natural cycle, before introducing clomid. I don't have the sperm count info handy, but will request those numbers in a few weeks. I only have 2 vials of donor 13822 remaining.
  • Good luck KSusan! I hope it works for you, but do please let me know if you end up with any unwanted vials! I am now 5 months pregnant and everything is going well :)
  • Hi Sportybaby..hope your delivery went well. I have decided not to use my last vial of donor 13822, as i'm not going to move forward with IUI any longer. i'm happy to discuss this further, if you are still interested in purchasing this vial. i believe the cryobank just charged me for a 3 month storage fee this month, so it's still there and available. best of luck with everything :)
