Second child using IUI

Hello Everyone-
I have read a lot of the posts on here and get encouraged by all the stores and journeys that people have been through. I think it is amazing what we go through to have beautiful children and become mommies!!

I have been successful with IUI using donor 12404 in February 2012 after several tries (I want to say close to 10)and procedures. Man was that a journey...

We are now trying for our second child and it seems that we are following the same journey with donor 13951 (I think this will be our 5th try)which is a little discouraging. However, this time my doctor wants me to do an HSG procedure to check my fallopian tubes and uterus. Has anyone done this before?

Thanks again!

  • Hi nichtrin, I just joined bulletin board and after going thru a few threads it is encouragement and good to know a lot of couples are going thru similar experiences. MY wife and I did our first IUI in January and it wasnt successful. We made a mistake of only purchasing 1 vial and now that we are ready to start our second insemination our donor is no longer available :( So we are searching for another donor. My fertility doctor requested a HSG test because of my irregular periods and not ovulating and my hsg procedure was last month. Thankfully everything was normal. I was nervous about it as i heard it could be a little painful. But it wasnt that bad at all. Almost felt like having a IUI procedure. Wishing luck to both of us and hopefully we will get a bfp!
  • TheLimas-Yeah I have completed the HSG and it wasn't bad....just confusing. The doctor who performed the HSG stated that everything is good and he saw no concerns with me getting pregnant. BUT he mentioned that there was some swelling which could mean an infection but nothing serious. Then all of a sudden my doctor gets the results and says that I have hydrosalpinx.. which is toxic fluid in my tubes and thats probably why I have not been getting pregnant. I then research it and don't notice any symptoms or concerns that this diagnosis suggested. So I asked for a second opinion which they looked by ultrasound and the doctor reports that there is no hydrosalpinx... So this cycle has been crazy to say the least. However, now we are in the TWW. I had my IUI on Sunday so I am 4dpiui. Wishing you the best of luck also. My wife and I are hoping this is it because we agreed that this was the last shot for us...
