Post was counts??

Hi all,
I had my first IUI this morning (natural cycle, using a donor). The post was count was 5 million. The doctor said it was "good but not great."

I was just wondering if anyone is willing to share their post wash counts.

Thanks so much!

  • My post thaw count was 22 million and my post wash count was 4.8 million. My doctor said they usually get a post wash count of 1-5 million for donor sperm. My RE said that a count of close to 5 million was good. I know CCB has a count of 10 million on their IUI vials. They told me that a loss of that many sperm was a lot after a post wash. However my RE said that was normal. So honestly...who knows!!! I think I try to talk too many people and it makes me coo coo!!! You have to trust in someone in this process and I think I am going with my RE.
  • my donors post wash numbers were high, 15 million and 100% motility. had my first iui today.
  • If you are buying premium IUI vials, the lab should be thawing only, not washing. The sperm has already been washed.

My post thaw counts were usually below 5 mil too. CCB has given me credit for vials under their guarentee.
  • I have ICI vials so mine are thawed and washed. The credits are for the post thaw count not the post wash count.
  • same here. my ici vials were also washed by my doc. which is what they always prefer. so my count was post thaw.
