Hello out there! Anyone trying with this donor? Any positives?

Comments

  • Haven't tried yet, but will be trying with this donor next month.
  • AEZ - nice to hear from you. I will be doing IUI toward the end of January. Good luck to you!
  • We will also be doing IUI toward the end of January! This is our first attempt so we are not overly optimistic, but still hopeful. Good luck to you too!
  • This will be my third but first with this donor. Keep in touch!
  • Are you doing one or two inseminations per cycle? What have you done in the past? We can't decide and are trying to balance increasing our odds with limited funds and limited time (age-wise). Just curious if/how you have approached this decision (that is if you are comfortable sharing).
  • Well I have not done two insemination's per cycle so far but it is something I am planning to ask my RE about. I am limited on funds too. We only purchased 3 vials and said we were willing to try 3 times but if it will increase my odds perhaps I will buy one more and try twice like that. I am not really sure how worth it is but I will let you know what my RE says about it!
  • So I asked my RE about back to back insemination and his thoughts are that it really only increases my chances by about 2-5% so its really much more cost effective to do just one well-timed IUI and not do the back to back.
  • Thanks for the information. We are sticking with one the first round anyway. I am a bit nervous about the timing factor, but am hoping clomid will help with that. Are you/have you used something like that? I thought I had a decent knowledge of things coming into this process, but in reading some of the forums here I realized I am not well versed at all! For example, it took me a while to figure out what RE and TWW meant. I hope you are feeling hopeful as the days inch closer toward the end of the month.
  • This is my first time on clomid and I will be starting those pills on Friday. I heard they make you cry for no reason! :) I think they are monitoring us so closely when we are on clomid that there is really no worry about timing. On my first two rounds I had to do the at home ovulation tests and it was really a pain. I think things will be smooth sailing this time around!

Yes there are a lot of acronyms that people use when talking about fertility.

Check this out. Are you on the Facebook CCB private group? Someone recently posted this to help the newbies!
  • saravideoproducer - Just wanted to let you know I am having an IUI tomorrow with 12681. I will keep you posted. And thanks for the information about the FB group. Hope things are on track for you.
  • We used 12681 & got preg 1st time with Clomid 50 mg. We had tried 3x with another donor but ran out so this was our 4th try overall but 1st w/ this donor & 1 st w/ Clomid. Clomid made me really crampy but was worth it to me. Heartbreakingly we lost our baby. It stopped developing at 6.5 & it's heart stopped. My pregnancy hung on until yesterday (would have been 11 weeks). I chose to think it fought hard to stay with me but just couldn't. We have 5 more vials of 12681 & will be trying again in a few months. I'd love to stay in touch with you. When i get my next BFP I will sign up for the sibling registry. Until then, my email is peach_ljc@yahoo.com if any of you would like to get in touch that way. Best of luck to us all
  • Peachljc -I am so sorry to hear about your loss. Baby dist for next time!

AEZ - I think we were inseminated on the same day! The 22nd!
I am on day 2 of my TWW and its already killing me this waiting.
  • Peahljc - my thoughts are with you. I wish you peace and calm in the coming days and weeks as you deal with this heartbreak and baby dust for the future!

saravideoproducer - yes we did inseminate on the same day, wild! Just 2 days in, the wait has been quite difficult made worse by the fact that I feel quite awful. I am sure it is the various medications I took beforehand and it being my first round, but it seems to make the days even longer.

I hope you both keep in touch. And I wish you all the best going forward.
  • Yes AEZ, I was not feeling great the first couple days either. I feel pretty good today though. No signs of pregnancy yet! I guess I wouldn't being only on day 3. Sigh.
  • Good luck to you both! I'll be keeping you in my thoughts for BFPs & sore breast :) (that was my first symptom).
  • Hey AEZ, any symptoms? I am feeling some cramping that started on day 6. Today I am feeling nauseous but I am wondering if I caught a bug or something because it's too early to feel that way I think...
  • Umm, the symptoms question is a little difficult to answer. To be honest, I have felt pretty awful since the Monday after the insemination. I was fine the day of, no cramping or anything. But since that Monday I have had pretty severe cramping and breast pain. I also started having some intense hot flashes and chills. I keep thinking I have a fever, but I don't. So yea, I am kind of a mess. But, I don't think these are really symptoms of a pregnancy, rather I think the meds I took (clomid and estrogen) before have caused my hormones to be seriously out of whack. That and it being my first IUI. I probably should have been on progesterone too, but I got tested this round and can add that to the next round. I feel like a war is being waged inside of me (and I swear I am not a dramatic person!). In my fantasy world all of these fun symptoms would mean it worked, but I suspect that is not the case. Hopefully I can get things on a more even keel next time!

I will hold out hope that you have been successful : )
  • I got a negative test today. Hope you did better!
  • I did not even make it the 14 days. AF started yeesterday before I could do any testing. Yesterday was a pretty god-awful day, but today things feel *slightly* better. I hope your tomorrow is the same.

Thinking of you and sending you wishes of warm comfort!
  • I'm sorry to hear that ladies. January was a rough month for 12681 sperm. I have to wait for everything to get back ontrack so I hoping to try again in March & have myself a Christmas baby. Maybe you'll both get Thanksgiving babies!
  • Awe sorry AEZ. My AF hasn't started yet. The nurse said if I don't start by tomorrow I will need to come in for a blood test. Very strange!
  • Well it started. Better luck next time.
  • I got pregnant on my first try with donor 12681 but it ended in miscarriage at about 8 weeks. :( Will be trying again in about 1.5 to 2 weeks with the same donor. Hoping for better luck this time.
